Requirements for Applicants
- Those who have completed 12 years of school education as well as those who are expected to complete by March 2021 in a foreign country, or those designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to conform to this, those entering the country with the purpose of receiving education at the university, or a resident.
- Those who have achieved a mark of 200 or more in a Japanese language course (excluding writing) within the last four Examinations for Japanese University Admission (i.e., EJU) or those who have N2 or above in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JPLT). Alternatively, applicants may be recommended by the principal of the Japanese language school in which they are enrolled as having Japanese language ability equivalent to or greater than the above. (Overseas applicants need to present either their Japanese language test scores of EJU or the certificates of JLPT.)
Also note that applicants who are enrolled in Japanese language schools or vocational schools while residing in Japan must have an attendance rate of 80% or higher (calculated on an hourly basis). - Applicants must have sufficient assets, a scholarship, or other means of support to meet their expenses while living in Japan, or must have another person who is willing to pay these expenses.

*: In the event a student registered at a Japanese language school is unable to submit a score card, a recommendation document may be submitted instead, according to Section 2 of the Qualifications for Application. Although the submission of a score card is optional for students who are registered at a vocational school, if submitted, it will be considered for admission as a part of the document screening.
In the event any falsified or forged document is discovered among the application documents, the application will be canceled even after the applicant has been accepted for admission to the University.
